The eight neighborhoods comprising Bronx Community Board 9 (BXCB9) are 22% denser in population than the Bronx overall, and have very little vacant land available to develop. Using a series of Smart Growth Action Grants, the Bronx-Manhattan North Association of REALTORS® partnered with BXCB9 to develop a comprehensive plan, and help ensure that growth will benefit existing communities, new residents and businesses.

When a well-intended bill approved by the County Council threatened to undermine affordable housing development on Maui, the REALTORS® Association called on the Advocacy Everywhere program to support a veto by the mayor and help steer housing policy back on track.
Three North Carolina Communities Jumpstart Revitalization with Mainstreet Downtown Assessments Supported by the REALTOR® Party
Using Smart Growth grants from the REALTOR® Party, the McDowell Board of REALTORS®, the Yancey Association of REALTORS®, and the High Country Association of REALTORS®, all in western North Carolina, commissioned assessments of small town centers with an eye toward sustainable residential and commercial growth.

Wisconsin REALTORS® Rally Support for Legislation Addressing Discriminatory Deed Language
In Wisconsin, where the minority homeownership disparity is the broadest in the nation, new legislation allows homeowners to note their disapproval of racist covenants in their real estate deeds and release offensive restrictions from the title. A Call for Action by the Wisconsin REALTORS® helped support the bi-partisan measure, leaving no doubt as to where the REALTORS® stand on fair housing.
Florida REALTORS® Use Game Changer Grant and Market Enthusiasm to Help Welcome Republican National Convention to Tampa Bay
REALTORS® are not shy about capitalizing on opportunity, and the Florida REALTORS® were no different when they found out that the Republican National Convention would be held in their own back yard. The 115,000-member association used a $25,000 NAR Game Changer grant, along with funds of their own, to help welcome the 60,000 delegates, guests, media and elected officials to the Tampa Bay Area. Oregon REALTORS® Step Up to the Plate to Ban Transfer Taxes
Oregon’s REALTORS® came out in force in May of 2012 to let the powers that be know exactly what they think of the possibility of a new real estate transfer tax. In an energetic campaign to get a measure on November’s ballot opposing any new taxes on real estate transactions, the 12,000-member Oregon Association of REALTORS® (OAR) presented nearly 164,000 signatures to the secretary of state’s office. It needed only 116,284. Combining impressive grassroots efforts with funds from OAR and NAR’s Issues Mobilization program, the campaign involved polling, an interactive web site, a signature collection firm and direct mail.
Billings Association Puts REALTOR® Party Resources to Work in Long-Time “Quality of Life” Program
The 600-member Billings Association of REALTORS® (BAR) has a long-held belief that REALTORS® do much more than sell houses – they build communities. And, their actions prove it. Launched 10 years ago, BAR’s Quality of Life Program raises nearly $40,000 for local charities like Dress for Success, YMCA, and Boys and Girls Club. Their two annual fundraising events – a run and a casino night -- are coordinated through a web site they created using the Convio/REALTOR® Party Grassroots System.
