Coastal Carolinas Association (SC) Gets Around Sign Ordinances With Interactive App to Promote Open Houses
The 3,100 members of Coastal Carolinas Association of REALTORSĀ® serving 72 miles of coastal communities in South Carolina, were bumping up against strict sign ordinances as they attempted to promote their open houses. Then, the association came up with an ingenious idea ā a new interactive app showing users how to get to open houses and connecting them to listing agents. With a REALTORĀ® Party Game Changer Grant they made it made it happen.
West Maricopa (AZ) REALTORSĀ® Put Campaign Training to the Test and Get One of Their Own Elected to City Council
With grants and guidance from the REALTORĀ® Party, the 6,000-member West Maricopa Association of REALTORSĀ® (WeMAR,) supported one of its own for the Glendale, AZ City Council, securing a big win in November of last year. WeMar leaders used what they learned from NARās Campaign Management Training, along with direct mail, phone calls and online advertising to mount successful campaigns for their REALTORĀ® Champion in both the primary and general elections.
New Jersey REALTORSĀ® Combat Last-Minute Tax Threats to Property- and Business-Owners
In a last-minute scramble to balance the state budget last year, New Jersey lawmakers set their sights on two real estate tax-targets that propelled the state REALTORĀ® Association into action: seasonal rental properties, and homes valued at more than $1 million. Calls for action got the message out to REALTORSĀ®, who made their feelings known to their elected officials.
Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORSĀ® Supports New Zoning Ordinance Aimed at Correcting Racial Inequity and Increasing Inventory of Affordable Housing
When a racist rally occurred in Charlottesville, Virginia in August 2017, it prompted the City Council to focus on municipal policies through a lens of racial inequity. City leaders revisited the comprehensive land use plan with an eye toward improving affordable housing, an area that had always been intimately linked with race. The Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORSĀ® endorsed the major zoning reform and used grants from the REALTORĀ® Party to support its passage.
North Carolina REALTORSĀ®ā Advocacy Spurs New Legislation for Small Business and Association Health Care Coverage
