On June 2, 2016, the Hopkinsville Dog Park was opened by an official ribbon cutting ceremony, with plenty of dogs in attendance, ready to romp. It was all the idea of the 56-member Hopkinsville Christian & Todd County Association of REALTORS® and a Placemaking Micro-Grant from the REALTOR® Party helped make it a reality.
Hawaii REALTORS® Look to Create Housing Opportunities for the Homeless
Living in Hawaii may seem like a dream to mainlanders, but the tropical paradise’s homeless population is the highest per capita in the U.S. With the support of a Housing Opportunity Grant, the state and two local REALTOR® Associations are working to connect Hawaii’s landlords and property managers with programs that help homeless people rent rooms or apartments.

Columbus REALTORS® Joined Forces to Celebrate Fair Housing
Joining forces with colleagues from the local NAREB chapter and the National Association of Gay & Lesbian Real Estate Professionals, Columbus REALTORS® hosted a Cost of Poverty Experience and dramatized a mock trial to highlight issues addressed by the Fair Housing Act that are still at play in their communities.
Coeur d’Alene REALTORS® Bring a “Storybook Trail” to Growing Community
The Coeur d’Alene REALTOR® association wanted to use one of the REALTOR® Party’s Smart Growth Action Grants to help a local community where its members live and work. Working together with the City of Rathdrum, Idaho, they planned and built a ‘Storybook Trail’ at the base of Rathdrum Mountain.
Columbus REALTORS® Launches Book Club as a Safe Space for Tough Conversations
Columbus REALTORS® has also been seeking solutions to how we can become a more open and inclusive Association. In an effort to create that safe space, its Diversity & Inclusion Committee launched a Book Club for members to have open, honest (and sometimes tough) conversations about race, racism, diversity, and inclusion.
REALTOR® Party Smart Growth Grant for Better Block Event Leads to Five-Year Span of Investment from the City of South Bend
Seven years ago, the South Bend Area REALTORS® partnered with local organizations and businesses to create a Better Block event along a forlorn stretch of roadway on the edge of town. Their vision prompted the city to invest millions of dollars over the course of next five years, improving the streetscape and elevating the community.

Illinois REALTORS® Use Broker Involvement Program to Meet REALTOR® Party Mobile Alert Text Goals
Capitalizing on the robust level of engagement in its Broker Involvement Program, the Illinois REALTORS® recently sent out a State Broker Call for Action urging more members to subscribe to the REALTOR® Party Mobile Alerts texting program. It worked, tipping the state association beyond its goal, and then some.
REALTOR® Party Conference Grants
Grant Overview NAR is offering grants to state & local associations to host their own REALTOR® Party Conference in an effort to educate members and further the mission of the REALTOR® Party. Associations may qualify to receive a minimum of $5,000 and up to $16,000 to aid in hosting an educational or fundraising conference. Grant amounts are based on membership at $.10 per member or a minimum of $5,000, whichever amount is greater. States may join together to hold a regional conference in order to pool resources and reach a larger audience. Each state must send in an application. Requirements...
