To help break through the red tape and administrative bottlenecks that have slowed housing development in New York City to a debilitating pace, the four local REALTOR® organizations and the New York State Association threw their energetic support behind Ballot Question 3: Simplify Review of Modest Housing and Infrastructure Projects. An Issues Mobilization Grant from the REALTOR® Party supported the polling, advertising, and strategic planning that convinced the voting public.
With support from a REALTOR® Party Fair Housing Grant, the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS® offered members an eight-week course in the basics of American Sign Language, as well as Deaf culture. Taught by a member who is also a certified ASL instructor, the training spurred the development of online resources to better support REALTORS® and affiliates in serving the Deaf community, such as a directory of local interpreters.
