Often legislative and regulatory proposals that may do harm to property rights arise quickly and require expert analysis. The Land Use Initiative will analyze and provide talking points for proposed planning and zoning related measures that impact the transfer of real property. Review measures submitted by associations during Q2 2021 and search key word, issue, date and state to read submitted measures by associations since 1999. Questions? Contact Holly Moskerintz.

Just a couple of weeks until Election Day. For those of you making RPAC endorsements, running IEs, or ballot initiative campaigns, I wish you the best of luck. I look forward to celebrating, or commiserating, with you the following week in San Diego. Additionally, we will be hearing the results of the recent GAD/AE policy issues survey.

The GAD Advisory Group held our first meeting to start planning next year’s institute in Philadelphia. So far, I’ve resisted the urge to push for the branding “Finally in Philly.” The committee appreciates your responses to the institute survey to help us plan. If one thing came through loud and clear it was how valuable our state and local breakouts are, and your desire for additional networking/idea-sharing opportunities.

The good news is, we will be holding state and local breakouts again at Annual on Saturday, November 13th. I would like to challenge everyone to think of one new thing that your association did this year, that you can share with the group. I know that time is short and not everyone will have a chance to share their ideas, but if the opportunity presents itself, we could all benefit from hearing about new and innovative ways to use data or the NAR grants and elections programs.

I look forward to seeing you all in San Diego!
