Cincinnati Area REALTORS® Strengthen Transportation Infrastructure to Connect Residents to Jobs
When the public bus system of Hamilton County, Ohio needed an overhaul, ‘Reinventing METRO’ promised improved service and financial sustainability. To get it funded with an increase in the county sales tax, the local REALTOR® board joined a broad-based coalition in a leadership capacity, with support from the Ohio Association and the REALTOR® Party.
Rental Assistance Needed for Renters & Housing Providers Alike
On September 4, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) declared a “temporary halt to residential evictions to prevent the further spread of COVID-19,” which applies to all residential housing. This moratorium ends on December 31, 2020. This may seem helpful to renters in the short-term. Bidding wars and waived inspections and even sight-unseen offers have become more common than any of us would have ever imagined – especially if you asked this time last year.
REALTOR® Party Smart Growth Grant for Better Block Event Leads to Five-Year Span of Investment from the City of South Bend
Seven years ago, the South Bend Area REALTORS® partnered with local organizations and businesses to create a Better Block event along a forlorn stretch of roadway on the edge of town. American real estate is the envy of the world. It’s a shining example of the potential of our free market system and a defining feature of our collective embrace of the “unalienable Rights” set forth by Thomas Jefferson some 250 years ago. Considering the fight being waged against our members in some corners of the country, though, you wouldn’t always know that’s the case.
