The coronavirus global pandemic has fundamentally changed the way we live and operate, but rest assured our commitment to serve our members and advocate for you on Capitol Hill and in statehouses and city halls nationwide has not wavered.
Over recent weeks, our Advocacy Team has been working around the clock with Congressional leaders to ensure REALTORS®, small business owners, the self-employed and independent contractors were included in the federal response to this national crisis. With every two home sales generating one job in this country, the real estate industry will represent a key piece of our national recovery. We will continue fighting for key provisions in a fourth relief package expected in the coming weeks. All materials and resources related to coronavirus can be found online at nar.realtor/coronavirus.
We also have brought back our ‘Right Tools, Right Now’ initiative, which makes numerous business-critical resources immediately available to all members at reduced or no cost in an effort to support its members through trying times. As part of this initiative, NAR is supporting members by funding two months of Members TeleHealth as a benefit for those who do not currently have access to telemedicine, with an ongoing significantly-reduced rate available for members thereafter. Enrollment in this benefit is limited so be sure to sign-up by April 15. The well-being of our members, their families and their businesses is of paramount importance to the Leadership Team and our staff. We will continue fighting so every Realtor® has the tools and information they need to emerge from this crisis stronger and more prepared for their future.
We are also commemorating Fair Housing Month at home. We hope you take a moment to check out the book, video, and podcast recommendations; download this year’s poster; and share fair housing messages on social media. This is part of our ongoing efforts to emphasize accountability, culture change, and training in order to ensure that REALTORS® are doing everything possible to protect housing rights in America.
As we all search to find a new normal, we are reminded that life still goes on, and our commercial and residential clients still need our expertise and knowledge. Please stay safe and take care of yourselves and your families.
