Reaching Residents of Ventura County California Where They Are, the Local REALTOR® Association Demystifies Complex Housing Issues with Webinars and Podcasts

Even before the massive devastation of housing stock by the fires in southern California, Ventura County, like much of the nation, was experiencing a serious housing shortage. The issues affecting the creation of new and affordable housing are too complex to fit on a mailer or a social media post, so the Ventura County Coastal Association of REALTORS® has embarked on an education campaign of webinars and podcasts. A Consumer Advocacy Outreach Grant from the REALTOR® Party is supporting the project.

REALTOR® Alliance of Greater Cincinnati Advocates for Major re-Zoning Initiative with Help from Land Use Initiative Program

In order to bolster advocacy for the City of Cincinnati’s ‘Connected Communities’ initiative, the REALTOR® Alliance of Greater Cincinnati sought a review by the Land Use Initiative program. With the expert legal analysis in hand, the REALTORS® crafted a position paper, drafted a letter to City Council, and developed talking points for member testimony. Successful passage of the initiative is the first step toward improved housing opportunities and vibrant neighborhoods throughout the city.

With Land Use Initiative Analysis in Hand, Greater Lehigh Valley REALTORS® Converts Problematic Ordinance to a Win-Win

When the City of Easton, Pennsylvania proposed an ordinance requiring mandatory annual landlord training, the local REALTOR® association sought legislative analysis from the REALTOR® Party’s Land Use Initiative program. The assessment enabled them to reason with the lawmakers, resulting in a revised ordinance that strengthens the REALTORS®’ relationship with City Hall.
