With Consumer Advocacy Grant, Five Local REALTOR® Associations and the New York State Association of REALTORS® Campaign for Reasonable Electrification and Emissions Reduction Recommendations

When the New York State Climate Action Council recommended extreme building-electrification requirements – including prohibiting natural gas service to existing and new buildings as of 2024 – REALTORS® launched a consumer education and awareness campaign to help convince lawmakers in ten Senate swing districts to temper the proposed mandates.

Hundreds of REALTORS® kicked off December in St. Louis at the REALTOR® Party Training Conference, preparing to advocate for property ownership on behalf of clients and communities in 2024. Speakers included former Missouri Senators Roy Blunt and Claire McCaskill, St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones, and former HUD Deputy Secretary Pamela Patenaude, who all echoed the REALTOR® Party’s focus on bipartisanship in putting the American Dream in reach for more people.

Best Practices A reception format is preferred and allows more time to engage each guest. Set a goal per attendee. Food/drink costs should be around $85 per person including tax and gratuity! NAR cannot reimburse costs above the hard limit of $100/head. Twin Falls (ID) REALTORS® Succeed in Ballot Initiative: Small Board Makes a Big Difference in First-Ever Campaign

In its first-ever experiment with political involvement, the 250-member Greater Twin Falls Association of REALTORS® proved that you don’t have to be big to be effective. The city of Twin Falls needed to expand its waste water treatment plant, in order to support the growth and attract new business. With help from the Idaho Association, as well as a $10,000 Issues Mobilization grant and campaign assistance from NAR, the Twin Falls Association worked with local businesses and citizens to promote a special ballot initiative to fund expansion of the plant. North Carolina & Charlotte Associations Make a Splash at the Democratic National Convention

When you have a national political convention coming to town for the first time in your state’s history, it’s best to know how to harness some of that attention for your cause. The North Carolina and Charlotte Regional Associations put their heads together and decided digital bill boards were just the ticket.
