Types of Projects Not Funded
- Large Scale Projects: Limited to projects under $200,000
- Recreational areas or places for a single purpose (i.e., basketball courts, baseball & soccer fields, tennis courts, etc.)
- Locations not outdoors or not available to whole community (i.e. public housing project, schools, private property, recreation centers, gated communities, inside buildings, etc.)
- Infrastructure or public works projects: street repair, lighting, sidewalks, parking lots, bus stations, etc.
- Construction, repair or replacement of buildings or other structures
- Restoration, repair, improvement, or replacement of amenities (i.e. benches, tables, gazebos), trees/plants, playground equipment, monuments, statues, etc.)
- Memorial structures: grant can fund the building of a gathering space/park but not the memorial itself
- Landscaping/beautification/streetscape projects
- Food and refreshments
- Marketing activities
- Ribbon cuttings or other events
- Media or PR campaigns
- Multiple amenities (benches, bike racks) installed along a multi-site area (street, trail)
- Adding amenities/enhancing or completing a second phase for a project previously funded
