Community Outreach Grant Application Period Closed for 2023
The Community Outreach Grants have surpassed expectations in popularity. The application window is now closed and will reopen on January 2nd, 2024.

Thank you to all the REALTOR® associations who have shown immense interest in these grants. We strongly encourage you to sign up for a Community Outreach Planning Session to discuss innovative ways to leverage a grant in 2024. Questions? Contact Christine Windle (202-383-1135).

GAD Nation-

The overwhelming interest in this year’s GAD Institute has been tremendous! It’s exciting to see so much energy around this unique event.

The GAD Advisory Group has been working hard to put together programming for the GAD community on issues we’re facing at the state and local levels, and we are excited to share it with all of you in Detroit.

For first-time attendees, we’re starting early on July 18 at 9:00 a.m. with a New GAD Welcome hosted by the Advisory Group. This orientation session will connect you with GADs across the country, who can be a resource during the Institute and throughout the year. The New GAD Welcome will be followed by professional development opportunities led by your fellow GADs and NAR staff.

We’ll officially kick off the Institute midday with remarks by NAR President Kenny Parcell and Vice President of Advocacy Pete Kopf. The keynote speaker will be Tanis Roeder; she will host an interactive lesson focusing on how to improve our communication skills.

Team Michigan has a great second day planned, highlighting the history and future of Detroit and the state of Michigan. They have been the center of the universe when it comes to the automotive industry, struggled through the Great Recession, and are now experiencing a reemergence. We look forward to learning the lessons of Detroit and how we can use their examples back home.

The last day of the Institute will feature sessions on missing middle housing, NIMBYism, and how to build strong coalitions with new partners. Though the programming will end that afternoon, we encourage you to join us that evening for an awesome GADs Night Out at the Detroit Institute of Art, hosted by the Michigan Association of REALTORS®!

Also, don’t forget to contribute to GADs Give Back! This year’s recipient is COTS Detroit, which works to address homelessness in the city through economic prosperity. By supporting COTS, we can help families achieve their goals, overcome homelessness, and create generational wealth for their families. Click here to contribute to GADs Give Back.

GAD Institute is not simply an event but an opportunity to come together and learn from the best professionals in the business.

See y’all next month!

Josh
