Advocating for You in Uncertain Times

The coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic has fundamentally changed the way we live and operate, but rest assured our commitment to serve our members and advocate for you on Capitol Hill and in statehouses and city halls nationwide has not wavered. We worked tirelessly with Congressional leaders to ensure small business owners, the self-employed and independent contractors were included in the federal response to this national crisis. During these uncertain times, we also have brought back our Right Tools, Right Now initiative, making numerous business-critical resources immediately available to all members at reduced or no cost.

Amount of the historic bipartisan COVID-19 relief package. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) included a Small Business Administration 7(a) loan program, significant expansion of unemployment insurance, an employee retention tax credit, filing rebates, and a 60-day foreclosure moratorium and up to one year if mortgage forbearance. Make sure you are registered to vote, your registration information is up to date, and be sure to vote in the 2020 election. Check with your state and local association to learn about candidates and the impact of ballot initiative on your community.

Cost for REALTORS® without a telemedicine plan to enroll in Members TeleHealth. Members TeleHealth is a telemedicine service which provides virtual access to a doctor for non-emergency medical issues, and is being offered to members as part of the Right Tools, Right Now program. Sign up before April 15 to receive this two-month benefit with an ongoing significantly-reduced rate available thereafter.

New date of Tax Day. The extension from April 15 to July 15 comes in response to the COVID-19 outbreak across the country, and it will allow individuals and businesses extra time to get assistance and make payments without interest or penalties. Maui REALTORS® Stave off Threat to Short-Term Rental Permits

It’s easy for a community to blame an affordable housing crunch on short-term vacation rentals, but on Maui, the local REALTOR® association has rebutted each argument of the Planning Department with diligently collected data. With a Call for Action, it also drew hundreds of concerned residents to a planning meeting – in visible and vocal support of the permits.


Citrus Valley REALTORS® Encourage Voting, Transforms Office into a Voting Center

Voter registration and getting-out-the-vote is a top priority of the Citrus Valley Association of REALTORS® in greater Los Angeles. This year, one of its three offices served as a Voting Center, open to residents from anywhere in Los Angeles County: a major boon to the very mobile voting population of the sprawling jurisdiction.
