What You Need to Know

452 RPAC-supported federal candidates advanced from their primaries to the general election. We won a total of 438 of those races – bringing our success rate for this year’s election to 97%.

And we took 153 Opportunity Races live this election cycle, with nearly 50/50 support for Democrats and Republicans. We won 137 of those races – bringing our success rate for our Opportunity Race Program to an 89.5% success rate.

On the state and local level, our State and Local Independent Expenditures Program supported more than 400 REALTOR® Party champions this year. As of last month, every state and D.C. has now participated in the program over its lifetime.

Flood risk is real, and the stakes are high. With over 10 million high-risk homes uninsured, now is the time for action. Dive into NAR’s conversation with FEMA’s Jeff Jackson to uncover strategies for long-term solutions to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Learn how we can work together to protect communities and advocate for impactful reforms. Watch the full interview.

This message comes as Congress faces a December 20 deadline to fund the government. Failure to do so would result in a partial federal government shutdown, including authorization to issue new policies through the NFIP.

Since 2017, NFIP’s authority has been extended 30 times and allowed to briefly lapse on several occasions. An extended lapse of the NFIP will leave millions of Americans at risk and disrupt the purchase of flood insurance in more than 20,000 communities across the United States. Not only would Americans be unable to purchase new NFIP policies during an authorization lapse, but also property owners and renters currently insured by the NFIP would be unable to renew their policies.

NAR’s advocacy team has worked for years to ensure continuity for NFIP, including invoking a nationwide legislative call-for-action last year answered by tens of thousands of NAR members.
