REALTORS® Launch Waterbury (CT) “Front Porch Day” with Housing Opportunity Grant
The city of Waterbury, Conn. had been facing a growing epidemic of neighborhood blight for decades. Some properties had been abandoned; others harbored criminal activity. Porches, lawns, and sidewalks along entire streets had fallen into disrepair. Leaders of the 650-member Greater Waterbury Board of REALTORS® met with the mayor and launched a neighborhood stabilization program to do something about it. San Francisco Association Pulls Out All the Stops to Defeat Housing Tax
When the 4,000-member San Francisco Association of REALTORS® (SFAR,) learned about an additional transfer tax proposed for many of the city's multi-unit properties, it launched into action. With the help of an Issues Mobilization Grant from NAR, the association successfully got the proposal defeated. One key to SFAR's campaign was its outreach to the city's Chinese-speaking community, which constitutes a full third of the population.
District of Columbia REALTORS® Get Legislative Results Protecting Property Owners and Housing Providers
Thanks to the REALTOR® Party’s Advocacy Everywhere program, the District of Columbia Association of REALTORS® was able to spur members to contact City Council members about two important issues affecting property owners in the Nation’s Capital. The sophisticated system of REALTOR® Party Mobile Alert texts and emails made communication swift and simple.

Virginia REALTORS® Partner with “Homes for Our Troops” to Help Injured Veterans Get Mortgage-Free Housing
One in 10 Virginia residents is a veteran or active duty service member. When the Virginia Association’s Leadership Academy was choosing a class project, supporting veterans and Homes for Our Troops was a natural fit. Together, the Leadership Academy members and Virginia REALTORS® are raising awareness and making the American Dream come true for disabled veterans in the commonwealth.
