With its Home for All of Us initiative that began in 2022, the Long Island Board of REALTORS® is promoting awareness of protected classes, one-by-one. Last year it launched the campaign’s second phase, with a focus on issues pertaining to people with disabilities – from service animals to accessible websites.

NAR’s most recent Existing Home Sales report showed nationwide housing inventory lower than its been since we began tracking this data nearly four decades ago – way back in 1982. Highlighting the challenges and accomplishments of a six-year effort to develop a site-built 480-sqft dwelling made from two discarded shipping containers, a new video highlighting Miami REALTORS® reveals the regulatory hurdles that were identified – and overcome – in the process. In taking the prototype from concept to market, the REALTORS® managed to effect significant zoning changes that will pave the way for more affordable housing opportunities throughout the county.

The City of Phoenix has passed an ambitious plan to increase its housing inventory substantially in the next few years, and Accessory Dwelling Units will be a key component. When the City Council rolled out its new ordinance governing ADUs, Phoenix REALTORS® turned to the Land Use Initiative program for help making an informed decision about supporting it.
