Fair Housing

One neighborhood. One nation. Let’s make housing fair for all.
A key NAR priority is to protect against discrimination in the homebuying process and to promote fairness and integrity in the profession. Provide your members with fair housing resources to help expand homeownership opportunities for all. Watch the new implicit bias videos and become aware of any unconscious bias that prevent your members from living their conscious values. Learn more at nar.realtor/ACT. Let’s Be the Change and together we’ll make unfair housing history.  Reach out to Alexia Smokler asmokler@nar.realtor for more information. Click here for more information.

GAD Nation-

It is Spring in the South! Easter and the Masters are behind us. We next turn our attention to the Derby, DC, and Detroit!

The REALTORS® Legislative Meetings in Washington, DC are on the horizon: May 7 -11. I look forward to seeing this great next month!

As a reminder, here are a few items to make sure you add to your RLM schedule: Sunday, May 7 at 1:00pm, GAD Federal Issues Briefing; Monday, May 8 at 1:30 pm, All-GAD Meeting with State and Local Breakouts (Calvin Gladney with Smart Growth America is guest speaker the All-GAD meeting); Tuesday, May 9 6:00pm, the REALTORS® National Block Party at Nationals Stadium; followed by the offsite GAD Reception starting at 9:00pm. It will be great catching up with y’all there!

GAD Institute is taking shape! The Advisory Group is finalizing this year’s program speakers and narrowing down the agenda. We are looking forward to learning from Detroit and hearing her story. We also will benefit from each other’s stories, so we are incorporating additional peer-to-peer sessions to this year’s program. Sprinkled throughout will be outside experts to provide insights and perspectives on issues touching us all. We are packing a punch with content and professional development and are excited to make the most of our time in the Motor City!

To my policy warriors, hang in there and fight the good fight! RPAC Fundraisers, Q1 is in the books and only 3 to go! For those entering the primary season, happy picking!

See you in May!

Josh
