Long Island Board of REALTORS® Takes Lead in Educating the Public about New York’s Latest Protected Class: Source of Income
In 2019, New York State Fair Housing law added Source of Income as a newly protected class. Leveraging its ties to brokers, agents, property managers, and the public, the Long Island Board of REALTORS® launched an energetic campaign with multiple resources to help landlords and tenants understand the requirements of the new law affecting rentals.

Using a Consumer Advocacy Outreach Grant from the REALTOR® Party, Land of Sky Association of REALTORS® created a campaign to help find weak spots in the county’s broadband infrastructure. Once identified and mapped, these areas will become priorities as Buncombe County expands access to this now essential utility.

Austin REALTORS® Leverages Multiple REALTOR® Party Grants in Support of Missing Middle Housing
With strong support from Austin REALTORS®, in 2023, the City of Austin approved the Home Options for Middle-income Empowerment (HOME) Resolution, initiating code amendments to reduce the minimum lot size to 2,500 square feet or less and allow for up to three residential dwelling units per lot.
