Brad Ward
GAD Chair
Michigan REALTORS®

A person smiling for the camera Description automatically generated with low confidence Finally, Philly! Two years ago, our friends at the Greater Philadelphia Association and the Pennsylvania Association were set to host us for GAD Institute. Then COVID hit, and I don’t need to remind you of the rest. Now they are back in the spotlight and ready to show off everything their City of Brotherly Love has to offer.

This also marks the end of my run as GAD Chair.

I would like to thank my hardworking Vice Chair, Josh Dix and the entire GAD Advisory group for the tremendous effort that they have put into creating this year’s institute. We have some great programing to meet all your policy, political, and professional development needs. I would also like to thank my former Vice Chair, Brent Swander, who started this year but is now providing GAD support in the role of Chief Executive Officer for Columbus Realtors. Lastly, a huge shout-out and sincere appreciation to Jim MacGregor and NAR staff for their support and talents in working with all of us this year.

I’ve learned a lot from all of you this year. The quarterly All GAD Calls, the New GAD Orientations, our professional development sessions, and breakouts at Annual and Midyear, have given me a lot of insight and knowledge that I have been able to apply back in my home state. My hope is that you’ve been able to do the same.  This is great community that really comes together and supports each other, and I plan to remain involved well past my time as chair.

In closing, thanks to all of you that have made this year special. As a GAD you know how hard it can be to find great volunteers, so I appreciate your involvement in caring about your role in the association and your efforts to make yourself and your peers more effective.

See you in Philly!

And, in Detroit next year! Recently named one of Time Magazine’s best places in the world. Check it out.
