2020 Census: REALTORS® Count

As a national partner for the upcoming 2020 census, we want all of our 1.4 million members to take part in the census and to encourage their friends, neighbors, and clients to do so as well. Tomorrow, the Census survey will be available online for households to complete at 2020census.gov, by phone, or by mail. The census also helps determine Congressional representation. And, $1.5 trillion is distributed to states and localities based on census results. Do your part to make sure #RealtorsCount!

The date households will begin receiving official Census Bureau mail with detailed information on how to respond to the 2020 Census online, by phone, or by mail. In addition to determining appropriate Congressional representation, roughly $1.5 trillion is allocated to states and localities annually based off of Census results, delivering funds for roads, hospitals, schools and countless other public services.

Number of members of Congress, state executives and mayors of America’s 100 largest cities who are running for public office in 2020. Make sure you are registered to vote, your registration information is up to date, and be sure to vote in the 2020 election. Check with your state and local association to learn about candidates and the impact of ballot initiative on your community.

Number of real estate professionals who said their sellers are taking extra precautions amid concerns about spreading the coronavirus, according to the latest NAR survey. Precautions include stopping open houses, requiring buyers to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer, or asking buyers to remove shoes and wear footies. The survey examines the impact of the coronavirus on the real estate industry so far.
