Award-Winning Project Spurred by NAR Grant

In 2022, census data showed that housing inventory in Washington state was the lowest in the country, and the city of Spokane, population 229,000, had only a two- to three-week supply of homes. To help address the crisis, Spokane REALTORS® implemented a National Association of REALTORS® grant to support an objective assessment of market conditions and roadblocks, plus a practical plan for moving forward.

Virginia REALTORS® Emphasize Link Between Good Schools and Good Communities

Raising awareness about the link between good schools and good communities – and how to strengthen both – was the focus of a day-long forum called “Connecting the Dots Between Where Kids Live and Where They Learn." The 29,500-member Virginia Association of REALTORS® used a Housing Opportunity Grant to co-sponsor the day-long forum where 200 attendees explored ways to improve school performance, which in turn, increases housing desirability and values.

Partnership Spurs Diversity for the Grosse Pointe REALTORS®

In Grosse Pointe, Michigan, where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his "The Other America" speech 50 years ago this March, the local REALTOR® board makes all its decisions through an internalized lens of diversification. Partnering with the public school system recently, the REALTORS® recently created a calendar illustrated with student visions of diversity; proceeds from calendar sales support diversity efforts in the schools.
