Washington REALTORSĀ® Help Revitalize Downtown Bellingham
Using a REALTORĀ® Party Smart Growth Action Grant, the Whatcom County Association of REALTORSĀ® (WA) was a major sponsor of a dynamic placemaking competition that drew 24 participants and more than 500 community members. Judging from its success, the REALTORSĀ® know it will make an impactāand plan to make it an annual event.
Pacific Southwest REALTORSĀ® Advocate for Transit-oriented Smart Growth
To help find solutions to the severe housing shortage in San Diego, the REALTORSĀ® of the Pacific Southwest joined forces with a coalition that proposed numerous Transit-Oriented Development strategies to the city. Shortly thereafter, the City Council unanimously adopted five new incentives to encourage in-fill development, especially along transit routes. A Smart Growth Action Grant from the REALTORĀ® Party helped the cause.
Delaware REALTORSĀ® Use REALTORĀ® Party Mobile Alerts to Save Itemized Deductions
When the Delaware legislature went after itemized tax deductions in order to bridge a daunting budget shortfall, the Delaware REALTORSĀ® rallied its members using the REALTORĀ® Party Mobile Alerts. Members responded in record numbers and itemized deductions were saved.
Louisiana REALTORSĀ® Defeat a Proposed Tax on Services
Every couple of years, the Louisiana legislature discusses a tax on services to help close the budget deficit, and every time, the Louisiana REALTORSĀ® fight back to protect consumers from a huge increase in costs to get in to a new home or business property. This year, they had help from the REALTORĀ® Party's new Advocacy Everywhere program.
