The City of Big Bear Lake is dependent on the tourism that drives its economy, so when the City Council considered capping the number of short-term rental permits, the REALTORSĀ® went to bat ā for property owners, and for the economic welfare of the region. Advocacy Everywhere helped them launch an effective Call For Action.
Ohio REALTORSĀ® Back Legislation to Overturn Unfair Property Valuation System
With help from an Issues Mobilization Grant from the REALTORĀ® Party, Ohio REALTORSĀ® and a coalition of like-minded partners convinced lawmakers to reform the stateās property valuation system ā one which, unique in the country, allowed third parties to challenge the value of anotherās residential or commercial property for tax purposes.
Land Use Analysis Helps Missouri REALTORSĀ® Reshape Zoning Code Changes, Build Coalition
The Columbia Board of REALTORSĀ® immediately knew the proposed changes to areaās zoning code would threaten the areaās private housing market, which is shaped by the state universities flagship campus. Information from the Land Use Initiative analysis allowed the 500-member association to create a coalition of local agencies, speaking with one voice, to influence changes to the proposed temporary zoning rules.
