Florida REALTORSĀ® Work to Defeat Rent Control
Unable to wait for a legal ruling to keep an unconstitutional rent control measure off the ballot in Orange County, Florida REALTORSĀ® launched a major campaign to discourage voters from accepting the measure.Ā The effort targeted the countyās renters and homeowners, saturating the respective voting pools with reasons not to adopt rent control, and demonstrated to the rest of the state that the REALTORSĀ® are prepared to fight the issue statewide.
Washington REALTORSĀ® Use Issues Mobilization Grants to Support Bumper-Crop of Affordable Housing Legislation
With help from the REALTORĀ® Party, Washington REALTORSĀ® mounted a public-facing "Welcome Home" campaign to focus the stateās 2023 Legislative Session on housing inventory and homeownership. The slate of bills they successfully promoted will lower barriers to creating new housing, especially in the affordable and Missing Middle range. In a separate campaign, they fought back legislation to increase real estate excise taxes.
